Time To Be Irish Again!
Or . . . St. Patrick Spoke Yiddish, Didn’t You Know?
Once a year comes a time I have to face the fact that my heritage is ˝ Irish. Still haven’t made peace with it, perhaps because I’m not Catholic and growing up where I did, “Catholics” meant our team was supposed to beat theirs . . . those St. Aloysius Flashes wearing purple and gold. Thus, my inherent conflict.
Thus, my decision to revisit last year’s blog entry for St. Pat’s Day that a sometimes friend said over and over she liked it a lot, and she is Catholic. Maybe that’s why she’s sometimes.
Now searching to find that one in my button collection saying, “St Patrick Spoke Yiddish.” The only thing really good about being ˝ Irish, I know of, is Asphalta, the parking goddess, who seems to favor the Shamrock clan. So much for green beer, but I am okay with corn beef and cabbage. A toast to last year’s blog!
