Coretta Scott King (April 27,
1927 - January 30, 2006) received in November, 2002 Metropolitan
Community Foundation's "Circles of Hope" Award in San
Francisco. Singing at the ceremony in honor of Mrs. King was her
close friend, recording artist Patti LaBelle. Presenting the award to
Mrs. King was Rev. Dr. G. Penny Nixton, President of the Foundation and
Senior Pastor, MCC / San Francisco. (Photos by
